Our esteemed client in the FCMG sector is looking to recruit a Purchasing Manager to join their team.
The selected candidate will oversee the stores in general, ensuring efficient and cost-effective support for production and operational processes. This role also entails maintaining strict compliance with inventory management procedures and industry best practices.
The role requires assisting to the procurement team by conducting supplier research and evaluations, comparing pricing and services, and collaborating with process managers to monitor inventory levels and assess supply requirements.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure the availability of general stock items within defined constraints to consistently meet production demands;
- Supervise a small team of warehouse personnel and coordinate with various departments to facilitate seamless operations;
- Oversee order fulfilment for a range of general stock items, including spare parts, in collaboration with operational teams;
- Develop and maintain effective stock management systems in alignment with ISO standards and industry best practices;
- Manage the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to ensure accurate, real-time inventory data;
- Meet performance targets set by the Supply Chain Manager;
- Assist the Procurement team by overseeing procurement administrators, ensuring compliance with policies and ethical standards;
- Negotiate optimal pricing while upholding quality standards and addressing any procurement-related issues.
Experience:
- Diploma or degree in Logistics, Business Studies, or equivalent;
- Experience in an inventory environment;
- Strong leadership, team facilitation, and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to take initiative and demonstrate creativity in problem-solving;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong ICT and presentation skills;
- Strong analytical skills and a proactive mindset.
