The primary responsibility of this role is to design, build, and maintain reliable and robust applications. This includes bespoke software development and country-specific solutions, such as API-driven interfaces, ERP system deployments, system upgrades, and application setup.
Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality software using approved technologies and tools.
- Deploy ERP systems and provide technical support and debugging.
- Perform system upgrades and patching using the central versioning system.
- Maintain version control in line with established procedures.
- Configure and implement automotive manufacturer interfaces.
- Deliver technical and ERP administrator-level training and consultancy.
- Develop customer-specific reports.
- Conduct effective technical analysis and provide second-line support.
- Provide technical support for projects.
- Build advanced expertise in selected ERP areas.
- Coordinate and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Perform thorough testing to ensure high-quality software releases.
- Meet agreed deadlines and schedules.
- Adhere to established coding standards.
- Produce clear technical documentation for all work performed.
- Release and implement new or modified software internally or at client sites according to procedures.
- Address reported bugs efficiently and promptly.
- Provide ongoing support for modules developed or enhanced by the team.
- Assist other teams with client support when required.
Qualifications and Skills required
- Bachelor’s degree in software development or a related field.
- Fundamental knowledge of databases, including ISAM, Oracle, and MS SQL.
- Good knowledge of VB, C/C++, web services, XML, and SOAP.
- Strong understanding of API design, architecture, and best practices, including REST (JSON) and SOAP (XML).
- Server administration experience on NT/Unix-based platforms is an advantage.
- Well-organized with a proactive mindset.
- Additional on-the-job training may be provided as required, potentially delivered internally, locally, or overseas.
