Our client is looking to recruit an ICT Senior Technical Officer to join the agency.

To deliver technical support and ongoing maintenance for the organisation’s ICT systems and infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The role involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues, as well as providing user support across hardware, software, and network environments to enable smooth and efficient digital operations

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

- Assist in coordinating projects, initiatives, and services, ensuring effective follow-up and timely execution;

- Monitor the implementation of programmes to ensure they are delivered according to plan and escalate any issues to the appropriate superior;

- Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware, including desktops, laptops, printers, network devices, and related peripherals;

- Support the administration and maintenance of core IT systems, including servers, storage infrastructure, and cloud-based solutions;

- Ensure IT operations are delivered in line with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs);

- Identify and promote opportunities for IT automation and digital transformation initiatives;

- Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance and streamline business processes through technology solutions;

- Manage and monitor incidents and service requests using internal and centralised service desk systems;

- Maintain an accurate IT asset inventory and oversee the full lifecycle management of IT equipment;

- Support the implementation of security controls, including user access management and endpoint protection measures;

- Assist in the administration and maintenance of network infrastructure, including network terminations and port patching;

- Perform regular network performance monitoring and maintenance across both LAN and Wi-Fi environments;

- Support IT compliance initiatives in accordance with government regulations and internal policies;

- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date technical documentation and IT procedures;

- Contribute to the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new IT systems and software solutions;

- Deliver training and provide guidance to employees on IT systems, tools, and best practices;

- Promote IT awareness and encourage the responsible and effective use of organisation-provided technology;

- Ensure tasks are completed efficiently within established timeframes while maintaining high-quality standards;

- Provide effective leadership within the section, fostering team commitment and motivation, and coordinate the establishment and oversight of new subsections as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

- In possession of O-Level Qualifications (MQF level 3) in at least four (4) subjects, and two (2) years of relevant work experience;

- Four (4) years of relevant work experience in a similar position;

- Good knowledge of verbal and written communication in both Maltese and English is essential;

- Highly organized and efficient;

- Thinks and acts strategically
