Our client is looking to recruit an organised and proactive HR Officer to support the Engineering department by managing day-to-day Human Resources operations. Acting as the main HR contact for employees and management, the role focuses on recruitment, employee administration, compliance, training coordination, and employee engagement while ensuring HR practices align with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, CV screening, interview scheduling, candidate communication, onboarding, and induction.
- Manage HR administration, including employee engagements, terminations, work permit applications and renewals, ID documentation, leave records, sick leave, and workplace injury processes.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies, procedures, and collective agreements.
- Act as the primary HR contact for Engineering employees, providing guidance and escalating key matters to management where necessary.
- Coordinate training needs, learning and development initiatives, and support the performance management process.
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives, team-building activities, welfare matters, and disciplinary procedures.
- Maintain accurate employee records across HR systems and ensure data integrity.
- Prepare regular HR reports and support management with HR projects and continuous process improvements.
- Perform any other duties related to the role as required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in Human Resources, preferably within an operational or technical environment.
- Good knowledge of Maltese employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Experience in recruitment, HR administration, and employee lifecycle management.
- Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR information systems.
- A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
Education & Experience:
- A-Level standard of education or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Human Resources role.
- Knowledge of Maltese Employment Law will be considered an asset.
Key Requirements:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and either Maltese or Spanish.
- Experience conducting interviews and supporting recruitment processes.
- Good working knowledge of HRIS and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong understanding of HR administration and employee lifecycle processes.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Confident, proactive, and able to build positive working relationships.
- Professional, discreet, and able to manage confidential information.
- Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is considered an advantage.
