Our client is looking to recruit a Senior Compliance Associate to join their team. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Support the Assistant Manager, Manager, Senior Manager, and Head in planning team operations and goals to align with the section’s priorities, targets, and deliverables;

- Assist in monitoring, reviewing, and following up on the team’s work to identify areas for improvement;

- Evaluate and assess team operations, preparing reports when required;

- Draft, supervise, and review enforcement measures, actions, and related tasks carried out by the team;

- Oversee the implementation of directives issued to subject persons;

- Participate in Compliance Monitoring Committees as necessary;

- Attend court sittings as a witness or as required, and assist in preparing court files;

- Contribute to interviews and the recruitment process as needed;

- Keep management regularly updated on plans, actions, and progress of the team;

- Review and maintain the Enforcement Section’s policies, procedures, and measures as necessary;

- Support management with ad-hoc projects and assignments as they arise;

- Deliver AML training and raise public awareness;

- Liaise with local and international supervisory authorities regarding enforcement measures; 

- Represent the organisation in international fora when required; 

- Report to the Director, Deputy Director, Head, Senior Manager, Manager, and Assistant Manager;

- Carry out any other duties as delegated by senior management;

Qualifications & Experience:

- A University degree or equivalent qualification (MQF Level 6) in Financial Services, Economics, Law, Statistics, Accounting, Auditing, or another relevant field, with at least 4 years of work experience; OR an MQF Level 5 qualification in the same fields with a minimum of 5 years of work experience;

- Strong knowledge of laws and regulations related to the prevention of money laundering and the financing of terrorism in Malta, as well as applicable international standards and EU legislation;

- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel;

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Maltese and English.
