Our esteemed client is looking to recruit a Procurement & Shipping Executive within his team. The Procurement and Shipping Executive oversees the procurement process, manages vendor relationships, and coordinates shipping activities to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of goods. Success in this role depends on strong expertise in procurement strategies, logistics coordination, and supplier management.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor inventory to identify replenishment needs;
- Utilise procurement software to streamline the reordering process;
- Ensure timely order placement to prevent stockouts;
- Assess historical and current consumption data for demand forecasting;
- Maintain and update consumption logs to track material usage;
- Regularly review and modify safety stock levels based on demand fluctuations;
- Define and maintain minimum and maximum inventory thresholds;
- Keep accurate records of expiration dates for perishable items;
- Plan reorders to align with shelf-life requirements;
- Review and validate procurement requests before submission;
- Ensure all necessary details (item, quantity, specifications) are included;
- Maintain regular communication with suppliers to track order progress;
- Resolve delivery delays and discrepancies
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is considered an asset;
- Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role within the manufacturing industry is preferred;
- Strong understanding of procurement principles, practices, and strategies;
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- High attention to detail and accuracy;
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, report generation, inventory management, and tracking purchasing metrics;
- Experience with electronic purchase order systems or e-procurement platforms, including order creation, status tracking, and report generation;
- Strong process analysis skills;
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication in Maltese and/or English;
- Knowledge of ICT and ERP systems;
