Our client, is currently undergoing an exciting phase of growth, making it the perfect time to join their team. An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Assistant in the Finance department.
Key responsibilities:
- Accurately process payroll for multiple clients, ensuring timely completion.
- Calculate and apply necessary deductions, including taxes, social security, and other withholdings.
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws and social security regulations.
- Use payroll software to manage and update employee payroll data.
- Maintain payroll transaction records and resolve any discrepancies.
- Address client inquiries related to payroll and resolve any payroll issues.
- Prepare payroll reports for clients as required.
- Manage client databases.
- Assist with day-to-day payroll operations and handle ad hoc client requests.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure quality service and adherence to client requirements, complying with relevant laws.
- Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with clients.
- Stay updated on payroll legislation and ensure organisation complies with regulations across different jurisdictions.
- Uphold organisation’s values by promoting professionalism, teamwork, and equality.
- Perform other relevant duties as required.
The ideal candidate should be a strong team player with experience in a dynamic organisation, displaying a hands on approach and proactive problem-solving skills. Effective communication and the ability to adapt to changing environments are key. At least one year of payroll processing experience is required, ideally in a client facing role, along with knowledge of payroll systems, social security, and tax deductions. Familiarity with employment laws and proficiency in payroll software are essential, and payroll-related certifications, such as CPP, would be advantageous.
