Our client is looking to recruit an Officer in the Financial Analysis section to join their team. The selected candidate has to provide guidance on potential risks to the financial stability of applicants and existing licensees in meeting their obligations whereas identify and assess risks to the financial stability of licensees by reviewing and analysing financial statements, while liaising with them to ensure appropriate recovery plans are in place where necessary. The selected candidate will require to support the Senior Executive/Head of Regulatory Supervision in monitoring compliance with applicable obligations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Analyse audited financial statements and other financial information submitted by licensees, liaising with their representatives, auditors, and other key stakeholders;
- Monitor the financial position of licensees, considering liquidity, capital structure, financial forecasts, and available financial support;
- Ensure licenses maintain a sound financial position by: Providing recommendations on financial suitability and sustainability; Investigating and monitoring financial standing and submitting recommendations where necessary; Developing controls, processes, and procedures to detect and mitigate risks identified through financial statements, reporting findings, and offering investigative support when required;
- Producing timely and reliable reports with recommendations as needed;
- Advising other functions on financial matters when requested;
- Report financial risk issues to management as required.
- Develop and maintain processes, policies, and procedures to support the objectives of the Directorate.
- Assist colleagues within the Regulatory Supervision function with compliance reviews, audits, and data extraction.
- Liaise with other directorates and functions as necessary.
- Ensure objectives of the Directorate are achieved while upholding professional standards at all times.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by superiors.
Professional Expertise:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or an MQF Level 6 equivalent (lower qualifications may be considered with relevant experience);
- Strong command of English with excellent reporting and communication skills;
- Proficient in Microsoft applications, with advanced skills in Excel and Word;
- Auditing experience is an asset;
- Knowledge of Maltese gaming laws and regulations, and/or experience in the gaming industry, will be considered an advantage;
- High attention to detail and accuracy;
- Ability to work effectively in a team, manage multiple tasks, and meet demanding deadlines;
- Capable of working under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment;
- Skilled at identifying and addressing sensitive issues;
- Professional, motivated, well-presented, and strategic in approach;
- Demonstrates ownership, initiative, and accountability;
