Our well established client is looking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer within their company. The role context of the job is the following:-

  • To Provide support and leadership for workshop operations to enhance reliability and cost-effectiveness;
  • Lead improvement projects from research to project closure report;
  • Assist in optimizing mechanical works on the fleet to uphold maximum reliability and safety standards

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and guidance to management and workshop staff regarding fleet management to facilitate a continuous improvement program and ensure quality control;
  • Identify technical and operational solutions for existing workshop and fleet-related issues;
  • Prepare technical reports to aid management in making well-informed decisions;
  • Create improvement proposal reports based on technical analysis;
  • Assist the technical department in planning and implementing campaigns, reforms, and other enhancements to meet departmental targets;
  • Collaborate with the workshop manager to refine the fleet inspection plan, aiming to reduce breakdowns and increase mean time between failures (MTBF);
  • Receive training from manufacturers, disseminate the information to subordinates, and lead training sessions for workshop personnel;
  • Work closely with workshop supervisors to make timely technical decisions

Other Responsibilities:

  • Participate in budgeting and forecast planning, adhering to approved costings;
  • Plan human and material resources as necessary to maintain workshop operations;
  • Ensure adherence to policies concerning security, data protection, health and safety, quality assurance, and environmental protection;
  • Provide assistance to other departments within the company as needed in relation to job responsibilities;
  • Undertake any tasks related to the job mission that may be assigned by management

Education and Experience

  • Hold a valid Mechanical Engineering warrant with at least 3 years of professional experience;
  • Preferably possess experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery or heavy vehicles;
  • Proficient in organizational skills and adaptable to varying situations;
  • Skilled in diagnostics, problem detection, and problem-solving;
  • Capable of analysing complex mechanical/electrical incidents and determining appropriate resolution steps;
  • Able to collaborate effectively in a team environment and promote teamwork;
  • Competent in providing technical guidance to colleagues;
  • Demonstrates leadership and management abilities;
  • Possesses general analytical skills
