On behalf of our client we are looking to recruit a Management Accountant to join the finance and accounts team.
Job Outline:
The Management Accountant will play a key role in delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial information to support informed decision-making across the organisation. This position is responsible for the preparation of management accounts, analysis of financial performance, contribution to budgeting and forecasting activities, and safeguarding financial integrity in line with internal policies and applicable accounting standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Preparing monthly management accounts and related analytical reports in line with established reporting timelines and internal policies;
- Analysing variances between actual results, budgets, and forecasts, and providing clear insights and recommendations to management;
- Supporting the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts in collaboration with department leaders;
- Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records;
- Assisting in the preparation of financial reports, key performance indicators, and management dashboards at both business unit and group levels;
- Contributing to inventory valuation reviews and cost control initiatives;
- Supporting the ongoing enhancement of financial systems, processes, and internal control frameworks;
- Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal procedures;
- Coordinating with internal and external auditors by providing timely documentation and explanations as required;
- Working closely with operational and commercial teams to offer financial insight, drive efficiencies, and support profitability.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a fully qualified accountant;
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
- Show strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insights;
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and team-focused mindset;
- Be proficient in financial systems and advanced Excel functionality;
- Exhibit strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet demanding reporting deadlines;
- Contribute positively to team culture and support colleagues in achieving shared objectives.
