On behalf of our client, we’re looking for a Maintenance Manager who can ensure top‑tier facility performance, guest satisfaction, and operational safety.
Job Summary
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the efficient operation, upkeep, and safety of all facilities, equipment, and infrastructure. This role oversees preventive maintenance, repairs, and continuous improvements to maintain high standards of functionality and regulatory compliance. You will lead and develop the maintenance team, ensuring operational efficiency, cost‑effectiveness, and a safe, welcoming environment for guests and staff.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the premises is safe, well‑maintained, and operating within budget.
- Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programmes and respond promptly to maintenance requests.
- Ensure compliance with procurement, storage, safety, and energy‑efficiency policies.
- Track utility consumption and recommend cost‑saving measures.
- Keep all technical documentation, certificates, and records updated and properly organised.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with other departments to minimise operational disruption.
- Maintain equipment to maximise lifespan and performance.
- Lead, train, motivate, and develop the maintenance team.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, fire, and security procedures.
- Build strong working relationships with management and Heads of Department.
- Demonstrate service excellence and assist with resolving guest complaints when required.
- Log and escalate incidents and accidents appropriately.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- Proven experience in maintenance management or a supervisory role within a hotel environment.
- Recognised technical qualifications in maintenance, engineering, or building services.
- Licence A and B (mandatory).
- Strong technical knowledge of building services, plant equipment, and preventive maintenance systems.
- Solid understanding of health & safety legislation, fire safety, and statutory compliance.
- Demonstrated leadership and people‑management skills.
- Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
- Experience in budget management, cost control, and utility analysis.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
- Flexibility to handle operational demands, emergencies, and on‑call duties.
- Proficiency in basic IT systems and maintenance reporting tools.
- Customer‑focused, professional, and service‑oriented approach.
- Proactive, hands‑on, and solutions‑driven mindset.
