On behalf of our client we are looking to recruit a Logistics Officer to join their team.
Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Logistics Officer will play a key role in supporting the efficient day-to-day operations of the warehouse and distribution function. The successful candidate will help ensure the smooth flow of goods, maintain operational efficiency, support cost-effective processes, and contribute to delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee daily routing activities, ensuring sales orders are scheduled efficiently and all related reports and documentation are completed accurately.
- Monitor and coordinate stock replenishment for district distribution, direct deliveries, and export operations.
- Supervise warehouse activities, including receiving, picking, cleaning, transportation, replenishment, loading, and stock storage, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Process goods receipts, manage the storage of imported products, verify quantities received, and maintain accurate records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Assist with basic administrative and accounting tasks, prepare operational reports, and support periodic stock counts and inventory reconciliation.
- Ensure warehouses, yards, equipment, and company vehicles are maintained in a clean, organised, and safe condition, keeping all related records up to date.
- Review and reconcile supplier and service provider invoices and statements, ensuring compliance with agreed commercial terms.
- Facilitate daily Kaizen meetings, promoting continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and teamwork across the logistics function.
Requirements:
- A minimum of an Ordinary Level standard of education.
- Previous experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or a similar environment.
- Strong leadership, team coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal, written, and IT communication skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with a focus on operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Flexible to work on a shift basis as required by the business.
