Our client, a well-established group of companies committed to driving business expansion through innovation, is looking for a Legal Counsel to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine, compose, and offer guidance on commercial and other contracts and agreements, as well as assist in contractual negotiations.
  • Ensure the fulfilment and adherence to contractual obligations.
  •  Provide advice and backing to the Group on legal matters spanning consumer affairs, employment, data protection, governance, regulation, intellectual property, and technology.
  •  Spot legal issues, evaluate legal risks, and contribute to the development and execution of solutions.
  •  Communicate and collaborate with external advisors, regulatory bodies, and other third parties as required.
  • Stay updated on legal and regulatory changes and inform the Group accordingly.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of quality within the Group by sharing knowledge, offering guidance, providing advice, and delivering training to colleagues.
  • Fulfil other duties as directed by the Head of Compliance and Risk Management.
  • The successful candidate will also have the chance to participate in legal litigation or proceedings, as well as assist with internal governance procedures and meetings.


The ideal candidate should possess a Doctorate of Laws or equivalent legal qualification and hold the Warrant to practice law in Malta. Additionally, they should have 2-3 years of full-time legal practice experience in a law firm, as in-house counsel, or as a commercial lawyer. Practical exposure to corporate and commercial law, employment law, and data protection regulations would be advantageous. Strong oral and written communication skills in both English and Maltese are essential, along with the ability to effectively communicate internally and externally at all levels. The ability to perform under pressure and adapt to a complex and dynamic business environment is also crucial.
