Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of compliance across the bank.
  • Establish strong relationships with key teams, including Risk, Legal, and IT.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders at all levels, offering guidance and advice on regulatory matters.
  • Assist in identifying, documenting, and assessing compliance risks associated with the bank's operations.
  • Monitor regulatory developments to ensure proactive compliance with forthcoming changes.
  • Conduct preliminary impact and gap analyses and assist in implementing relevant legislation.
  • Oversee compliance performance and adhere to regulatory deadlines.
  • Support the development and execution of the Annual Compliance Plan, ensuring compliance with legislation and internal policies through a comprehensive oversight programme that includes testing and reporting.
  • Assist with regular and ad-hoc reporting for management, as well as reporting to the Executive and Risk & Compliance Committees.
  • Track any outstanding findings from internal reviews and regulatory assessments.
  • Support the Regulatory Compliance Team and Compliance Officer with complaints, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
  • Assist the Data Protection Officer in investigating potential breaches and managing Data Subject Requests as necessary.
  • Perform any additional duties required to achieve the team's objectives.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and problem-analysis skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy. They should demonstrate teamwork, organisational abilities, and the capacity to work under pressure while managing multiple tasks. Initiative and advanced negotiation skills are essential for implementing effective solutions that ensure regulatory compliance. Meeting strict deadlines, multitasking efficiently, and having a solid understanding of Banking and Payments legislation, as well as ICT Risk and Cybersecurity legislation, are crucial. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is also required.
