Our client is looking to recruit an ICT Operations Manager within their team.

The primary objective of this role is to ensure the efficient operation of all IT systems, networks, and related infrastructure across the organisation. This includes overseeing the implementation, upkeep, and security of hardware, software, and network systems. The role also entails leading the IT team, managing day-to-day tasks, and working closely with other departments to align IT services with the company’s broader business objectives.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Management: Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of the organisation's IT infrastructure, encompassing servers, networks, hardware, and software systems;

IT Support & Service Desk Management: Oversee the IT support function, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues and delivering a responsive service to users across the organisation;

Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring alignment with organisational goals through effective task delegation and performance management;

Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors, including contract negotiation and procurement of hardware, software, and related services, to support operational needs;

Operational Excellence: Identify and implement strategies to enhance IT operational efficiency, streamline workflows, and optimize overall system performance.

Information Security: Safeguard IT systems by enforcing strong security protocols, performing regular audits, and remaining informed on emerging threats and cybersecurity solutions.

Budget & Resource Management: Administer the IT department’s budget, ensuring prudent resource allocation and cost-effective solutions that align with business requirements.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Establish and maintain robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure data protection and minimise service disruptions in the event of system failures.

Compliance & Governance: Ensure IT operations adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, while staying abreast of evolving compliance requirements.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Promote effective communication and collaboration between the IT department and other business units, ensuring technology solutions align with overall strategic objectives.

Education & Experience:

- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline;

- Professional certifications such as ITIL or PMP are considered advantageous;

- Industry-recognised certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Security+, or equivalent) are highly regarded

- Preferred minimum 2 years’ proven work experience in a similar role; 

- Extensive experience within an organization’s IT department working as a support agent or technician along with some management experience;

- Experience with system installation, configuration, and analysis

- Proficiency in IT infrastructure, networking, security, and cloud technologies;

- Good understanding of compliance, regulations, and best practices in IT;

- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with team members, senior management, and other stakeholders.
