Our client is looking to recruit an HR Generalist within their company. Joining the HR & Administration team, you will report directly into the HR Manager.
The Human Resources Generalist is a key member of the HR team, responsible for supporting a range of HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, record maintenance, and staff events. This role plays a central part in executing essential tasks across all HR areas and contributes to the smooth operation of the unit. Additionally, the HR Generalist will assist with specific projects, ensuring full adherence to legal requirements and the quality standards established by the HR department.
Job Outline:
- Foster a positive safety culture by actively promoting, communicating, and implementing the organisation’s safety and quality policy;
- Ensure the effective implementation, ongoing maintenance, and continuous improvement of all elements of the Safety Management System (SMS), in accordance with the duties outlined in the SMS manual;
- Build strong relationships with both employees and management by providing support and guidance on a variety of HR-related matters;
- Oversee the execution of HR policies and processes, providing day-to-day assistance and support for HR operations, including maintaining the company’s HR information system;
- Coordinate the collection and management of required employee documentation, including the drafting and signing of employment contracts, and onboarding new hires;
- Conduct HR inductions for new employees and deliver key HR-related information during onboarding sessions;
- Review, update, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and internal guidelines; contribute to the development and execution of internal communication strategies;
- Monitor and ensure compliance with internal HR procedures and company policies;
- Play an active role in the recruitment process across all levels, including the preparation of job descriptions;
- Maintain and update the online talent database; manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including vacancy creation, job advertisement (internal and external), agency coordination, and interview participation;
- Support the Human Resources Manager in handling employee relations matters and disciplinary procedures as needed;
- Contribute to building a positive work environment by fostering strong employer-employee relationships and promoting high employee morale;
- Participate in company projects and events, and carry out related tasks as required;
- Coordinate the acquisition of work permits and liaise with government authorities when necessary;
- Prepare periodic HR reports for management, such as employee performance reviews, overtime summaries, attrition statistics, and banking hour records;
- Conduct regular audits of employee files to ensure data accuracy and completeness;
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Key requirements & competencies:
- A minimum of three - four years experience in a comparable human resources role;
- Holds an MQF Level 5 qualification or higher in Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field;
- Solid understanding of Maltese employment legislation;
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills;
- Exceptional attention to detail;
- Approaches tasks and interactions with assertiveness, professionalism, diplomacy, and tact;
- Highly organised and precise in work execution;
- Demonstrates strong planning and coordination abilities;
- Proficient in computer applications, with strong overall IT literacy;
- Well-versed in local employment regulations and HR compliance matters;
- Outstanding verbal and written communication capabilities;
- Attentive listener with strong comprehension skills;
- Demonstrates leadership potential and the ability to inspire and guide others.
