Our very well known client is looking to recruit a Head of Retail/General Manager to join their entire team.

Reporting into the CEO, the Head of Retail is responsible for leading, coordinating, and optimising the overall performance of all retail branches within the organisation. This role ensures operational efficiency, outstanding customer service, and alignment with financial and brand objectives. Combining strategic vision with hands-on management, the position plays a key role in driving commercial success while fostering a strong, people-oriented culture.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

- Implement and execute the retail strategy in alignment with the company’s vision, values, and business objectives;

- Oversee day-to-day operations across all retail locations, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and compliance;

- Analyse performance data and implement initiatives to achieve sales, profitability, and customer experience goals;

Commercial & Operational Excellence

- Set and monitor sales, revenue, and performance targets for all retail branches;

- Oversee inventory control, stock replenishment, and waste management to ensure operational efficiency;

- Maintain compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and statutory requirements;

- Uphold operational standards to deliver a consistent and high-quality customer experience across all locations;

People Management

- Lead, mentor, and motivate retail management teams to deliver excellence in performance and service;

- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training of retail staff, ensuring strong engagement and retention;

- Encourage collaboration and effective communication within teams and across departments;

- Conduct regular performance reviews, identifying talent and supporting succession planning;

Customer Experience & Brand Management

- Ensure customer service standards are consistently maintained and continuously improved;

- Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring all retail branches reflect the company’s values and image;

- Gather and assess customer feedback to identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions;

Financial Management & Reporting

- Manage the retail division’s budget, balancing profitability with cost efficiency;

- Prepare and present performance reports, insights, and recommendations to senior management;

- Identify opportunities for operational improvement, expansion, or restructuring.

Key Skills & Competencies

- Proven leadership skills with experience managing multiple sites or retail operations;

- Strong commercial acumen and analytical mindset;

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team management abilities;

- Customer-focused approach with a passion for delivering service excellence;

- High emotional intelligence, resilience, and problem-solving capability;

- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals into actionable plans;
