On behalf of our clients we are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Human Resources to lead the HR function across the Group. This key leadership role will drive the people strategy, support management in leading their teams effectively, and ensure that HR operations, policies, and processes align with business objectives and company values. Reporting to the Directors, the Head of HR will be responsible for:
- Developing and driving HR strategy, workforce planning, and talent acquisition;
- Leading the HR function and managing a high-performing HR team;
- Overseeing the full recruitment lifecycle, including onboarding of new hires;
- Managing employee relations, including disciplinary processes and conflict resolution;
- Designing and implementing annual training and development plans;
- Ensuring HR policies and practices comply with Maltese employment law;
- Leading performance management processes and supporting managers in achieving team objectives;
- Supporting Health & Safety compliance and procedures;
- Overseeing HR administration, systems, and reporting, providing data-driven insights;
- Driving employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in a senior HR role, ideally within the retail sector;
- A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field;
- Strong knowledge of Maltese employment law and HR best practices;
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills;
- A proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving abilities;
- A growth mindset and a passion for developing people and teams;
- High levels of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
