We are looking for an innovative Head of HR to guide our client’s team to excellence! Provide strategic insights, inspire teams, and shape forward-thinking HR strategies. The client is in search of an experienced and dynamic individual.
Main Responsibilities
- Supporting the development and execution of HR strategies in alignment with the organisation’s objectives.
- Offering guidance to senior management on HR-related issues.
- Managing the processes of recruitment, selection, and onboarding.
- Developing retention programs to attract and keep top talent.
- Addressing employee grievances, conflicts, and disciplinary actions.
- Fostering a positive work environment.
- Maintaining regular communication with various department heads, unit managers, and employees.
- Identifying training and development needs and creating tailored training programs to fill any gaps, using both internal and external resources as necessary, ensuring all staff reach their full potential.
- Meeting regulatory training requirements.
- Providing necessary training aligned with the organisation’s strategic direction, growth, and evolution.
- Coaching and mentoring employees.
- Managing compensation structures, benefits, and incentive programs.
- Overseeing the monthly payroll process.
- Assisting in the design and implementation of performance appraisal systems.
- Ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Preparing annual budgets and monitoring and reporting accordingly, both internally and externally as required.
- Developing and updating HR policies and procedures.
- Ensuring adherence to labor laws and regulations.
The ideal candidate should be dependable, trustworthy, organised, and team-oriented. You must have proven skills in training, coaching, and personal development, with strong interpersonal abilities to work with diverse backgrounds. Excellent written and verbal communication in Maltese and English, well-developed presentation skills, and a customer-focused background are essential. Initiative, problem-solving, and negotiation skills, along with a passion for lifelong learning and development, are required. Strong planning, multitasking abilities, and a good understanding of local employment laws are crucial. The candidate should be enthusiastic, proactive and proficient in MS Office.
A CIPD, Psychology, or HR Management degree, preferably at the master's level, is a plus. At least 5 years’ experience in the HR field and knowledge in banking would be considered an asset. Knowledge of UK HR laws is also advantageous.
