A well know company is looking to recruit a Credit Control Administrator within their finance team.
Reporting into the Financial Controller the Credit Control Administrator plays a vital role in the Finance Department, ensuring the prompt collection of outstanding payments while minimising credit risk. Responsibilities include monitoring customer accounts, issuing invoices and statements, following up on overdue payments, and reconciling accounts.
The administrator collaborates with clients to resolve payment discrepancies while fostering strong relationships. They maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with company policies, and follow credit control procedures. Attention to detail, effective communication, and strong negotiation skills are crucial in supporting the company’s financial health, cash flow management, and overall business stability.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Open and manage new accounts while ensuring accurate record-keeping;
- Monitor clients’ credit status and promptly report potential issues to the credit control department;
- Process and reconcile client payments, ensuring invoices are paid on time;
- Maintain close coordination with the Sales and Delivery teams to facilitate seamless information flow;
- Address client inquiries promptly and professionally;
- Issue statements and credit notes accurately and on time;
- Keep detailed records of all credit control activities, including payments received;
- Reconcile customer accounts, investigating discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting;
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing customers by reviewing payment history and financial data;
- Prepare and distribute aged debtor reports for internal review and management decisions;
- Escalate problematic accounts and recommend debt recovery actions to Management for timely resolution;
- Ensure adherence to company policies, regulations, and applicable data protection laws;
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial processes, including reconciliations and audits;
- Manage customer and internal correspondence professionally, fostering strong business relationships;
- Provide administrative and financial support to the Finance Department as needed;
- Follow all written and verbal instructions from direct supervisors attentively;
- Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times;
- Participate in company training programs, both during and outside office hours, as required;
- Perform any additional duties assigned by Management in line with the role.
Skills, Experience & Expertise:
- At least 2 years of experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or a related field;
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with a strong grasp of credit control principles and financial processes;
- Ability to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities in a dynamic work environment;
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills;
- Self-motivated, well-organized, with strong communication and interpersonal abilities;
- Capable of working independently and meeting deadlines effectively;
- A proactive mindset with a ‘can-do’ attitude, a commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and enthusiasm.
